Contest with Margie Church

Love Bites – erotic paranormal romance - vampires
Blurb:  An accidental encounter turns into high stakes love when Jui Fabrice meets Wade Kairos in Germany. She has no idea he’s a vampire and Wade has every intention of keeping his secret.

A vineyard cottage is the perfect place for Jui and Wade to make love until he discovers her unique link to his living years. He vows to stay away from her forever, but he can’t let her go completely. Wade’s repressed human feelings continue rising. He invades Jui’s dreams and communicates telepathically with her at will. Evil jealousy consumes him when Jui becomes involved with Rob Hawthorne and she rebukes Wade for his controlling behaviors. Then Wade’s lifelong companion dies in a vamp war and his desolation is too much to handle alone. He turns to the only person who cares about him—Jui— and during one hot night, he becomes the man she wants.

The Ancient One, Ladislav Husek, learns of Wade’s risky human behavior and gives Wade a taste of how viciously he’ll die if he doesn’t bury his tracks with Jui. Husek promises to turn Jui into his personal playmate and Wade has to choose. Can love prevail over evil in a relationship that never was supposed to happen?

Enjoy the sequel: Dangerous Love, too!

Little bit about you: I'm a workaholic, full-time writer. I'm also a wife and a mom but don't tell them or they'll hunt me down and make me do housework, go to band concerts and scout meetings and gun shows. LOL Yeah, I do all that stuff, too. I'm a native Minnesotan who does say, "You betcha." I like winter and snowfall much more than steamy summer days. I got my fiction writing career started when one ended – I got laid off as a magazine editor. I write fan fiction for the EJAMI fandom of Days of Our Lives and yes, I've met the hunky James Scott and amazing Alison Sweeney! Serious thud! I'm celebrating my 30th wedding anniversary this fall to the only person who could stand me this long…and he's my high school sweetheart. Two people I'd love to meet: Pope John Paul II (better step up my game if I expect that in the afterlife) and Tiger Woods. Favorite guilty pleasures – a quiet walk in the woods, swimming in a lake, ice cream, a glass of Jameson Irish Whiskey, live concerts, laughing with friends.
What inspires you, what your work space looks like, and some fun facts about you for the readers.
What inspires me: As a writer, a keyboard and a monitor with WORD open. I told you I'm an addict. In life, people who defy the odds, who've been beaten down and up, and they keep moving forward. I also admire people who can do math, memorize maps, and have building skills. I am as unhandy as a peg-legged man in a building fire.
My work space is an office desk but it has love notes taped above my monitor that my husband and youngest wrote to me. I also have a few scriptures there – Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 139. My tiara for the days I do something inspiring. My autographed 8x10 of James Scott (always dusted). A plaque that says "The World is Waiting to Hear Your Story" next to a photo of myself. Two freaking rolodexes full of all my passwords. ARGH!!! A calendar of nun-silly stuff. Two shelves full of reference books. About a thousand scraps of paper for things I need to remember. Don't touch them or I'll keel you!
Fun facts (like you need more?): I'm a practicing Catholic and active in my church. Yes, they know I write THOSE books.
When I retire I want to live near the ocean.
I love birthday cake.
Cream pies and filled pastries make me gag.
I had serious surgery on my corneas to correct spontaneous cornea abruptions.
Most of my extended family lives in Germany. I'm first generation American on my mother's side.
I learned to rollerblade when I was past the age most people consider it wise.

Contest: The market is full of great vampire books. What would draw you to read yet another one after so many, especially by an author you don't know? You could win Love Bites.

  1. I LOVE all vampire romance books!! I have yet to read a vamp romance book that I didnt like. :-) Every author has their own take on the emotional and mystical sides to the vampire and each create a storyline that is different.

    thanks for the giveaway!!

  2. Wow, Becky, that's a pretty amazing testament considering how many vamp books there are to read! Love Bites and Dangerous Love certainly are not typical vamp romances. I've never had anyone say they knew how Love Bites was going to end. Thanks for stopping by and good luck.

  3. Loved this post, and the insight into you, Margie!

Hmm, what would entice me to read a vampire story? I love vamp stories, but what really hooks me when I start reading is the mythology the author creates for her vamps. Why are they who/what they are and what keeps them this way - this is where it gets interesting for me. :)

Oh, and there's a giveaway? Please consider me in zeemonodee @ hotmail dot com

    xoxo

  4. Zee, there's definitely an interesting hook between the past of our vampire, Wade, and our heroine, Jui. Good luck and thanks for stopping by.
